The State Government has finally come out to contradict "some observations of the 5th State Pay Commission (Part-II)". In a letter dated 28 February 2011, addressed to the General Secretary of the Association, the Government in Finance Department has also admitted in unambiguous term that WBCS (Exe) officers play multi-functional role both in the districts as well as in the state secretariat and that it is a well accepted and established proposition in the administration. |

Annual General Meeting of WBCS (Executive) Officers' Association is slated on March 5, 2011 at Rabindra Sadan. The Delegates' Session will be held on 26 February 2011 from 11:00 AM at Abanindra Sabhagriha in Nandan campus. Meanwhile, an Election Committee has been formed in the last meeting of the SEC held on 22-01-11 with Shri Pranab Pal, Shri Dipankar Roy Chowdhury and Shri Dhirendra Mohan Saha. Notice for filing nominations of the office-bearers and members of the new State Executive Committee of the Association has been issued. |

As resolved in the Convention of WBCS (Exe) officers held at Rabindra Sadan, Kolkata on 31 October 2010, the WBCS (Exe) officers will submit Memorandum addressed to the Chief Minister on 16 November in all the district headquarters of the state. The Memorandum will be handed over to both Sabhadhipati and District Magistrate. A delegation from WBCS (Executive) Officers’ Association is likely to call on the Chief Minister and the Finance Minister on the same day in Kolkata seeking their immediate intervention on the 5th State Pay Commission (SPC) Report in Part-II, which has been found inconsistent, contradictory, unrealistic and also derogatory in certain aspects. |

Kolkata City Committee Meet Regularly |

Since 10 July 2010 the Kolkata City Committee held its Annual General Meeting at Abanindra Sabhagriha, the new Committee met every month. The first meeting was held on 13 August. 33 members were present in the meeting. The next meeting attended by 21 members was held on 17 September. In both the meetings consensus was arrived at to request the SEC for holding a special Convention to deliberate on the future course of action in the context of the 2nd report submitted by the Pay Commission to the Government. |

AGM of Malda District unit |

Annual General Meeting of Malda District Unit of the Association was held in the Old Circuit House at Malda on 19th June 2010. Shri Pradip Jana, Shri Bhishmadeb Dasgupta, Md. Abdul Gani and Shri Tirthankar Halder were present on behalf of the SEC in the AGM. Shri Tarun Singha Roy and Shri Sudip Mukherjee were elected as President and Secretary respectively of the new DEC. Special Meetings of Uttar Dinajpur and Dakshin Dinajpur District Units were also held on 17th and 18th June respectively. Matters related to submission of ACR, meeting with the Chief Secretary held recently on Co-ordinating role of BDO, promotion to IAS and publication of revised Cadre Schedule and Civil List were shared among others with the members in the meetings. Members were requested to explore the website of the Association regularly to keep in touch with latest development. |
